Review: Captain America- No Escape

CAPTAIN AMERICA: NO ESCAPE(Marvel, 2010; Hardcover)

Collects Captain America Nos. 606-610 (cover dates August- November, 2010)

Writer: Ed Brubaker

Artist: Butch Guice

Ed Brubaker's run on this title has yet to disappoint. This is one of the few modern titles that Marvel puts out that I look forward to reading. It's great to see Baron Zemo and the Beetle back, even if it is not the original Zemo or Beetle. Jackson “Butch” Guice's artwork is tremendous as usual. I have been a fan of his since his work on Micronauts: The New Voyages back in the mid-80s. His artwork is fast paced and his action sequences are fluid.

Brubaker has a knack for delivering stories with a classic feeling and contemporary execution. I am really enjoying the whole Bucky as Cap era, and I honestly hope that it never ends. Ditto Brubaker as writer on the title. I think that any writer would be hard pressed to follow a quality body of work like he has done on this title.

The OCD zone- Glued binding like all Marvel Premiere Hardcovers. They are thin and light, so it doesn't bother me that they are two-fisted reads that don't lay flat.
