He is like that relative that says inappropriate things in front of the kids no matter how many times you pull him aside and tell him not to. These movies really strike me as the last great opportunity to get kids into comics, and Marvel is completely blowing it now, have blown it in the past, and will keep blowing it and then blame the fans when it finally falls apart.Kris Shawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07459412655631882698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5139630864504778401.post-19494167442716672212017-06-12T12:46:49.986-04:002017-06-12T12:46:49.986-04:00I took my son to a local shop on FCBD, and I was a... I took my son to a local shop on FCBD, and I was amazed at the lack of all-ages stuff from Marvel and DC that featured their big characters. He picked up the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY book, since we were on the way back from the film, but I found out later that it also contained Bendis' expletive-filled DEFENDERS preview. The totally inappropriate SECRET EMPIRE #0 has a really kid-friendly SPIDER-MAN story in the back.....Just no thought put into attracting kids at all. I picked up a bunch of issues of the SPIDEY series, which was age-appropriate, and he loved that. Kids enjoy reading comics, but it's hard as hell to find stuff that's suitable for them to read.

For my part, I read SECRET EMPIRE #0 and if I hadn't already known what the series was about, this would have given me no clue. Totally incomprehensible, with terrible art. I currently buy no new Marvel comics.....which is pathetic. The Crabby Reviewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00902708680954049015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5139630864504778401.post-41444521372306677802017-06-10T12:26:34.636-04:002017-06-10T12:26:34.636-04:00Your description of the X-Men book made me laugh. ...Your description of the X-Men book made me laugh. It's so true. Imagine Netflix charging you $50 per month, but you're limited to watching eleven episodes of the same 20-minute TV show. Pretty ridiculous, especially when you consider that it costs *way* more money to make a single episode of a TV show than it does to publish a comic book.Marchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10558378521891430225noreply@blogger.com
